It is associated with the goddess Artemis, protector of nature and women, protecting them during childbirth, a plant seen as beneficial in antiquity. Perennial plant that can reach a meter known in the south-east of France, the Pyrenees and the western coast, native to Europe, northern and central Asia as well as North Africa.
